Celebrating Black History Month

February 13th, 1920, the Negro National League was established in Kansas City, Missouri. The Negro National League existed until 1931, making it one of the longest sustained professional black sports leagues. We pay homage to Andrew Foster, the founder of the league, as well as many others players including but not limited to Jackie Robinson, Willie Mays, and one of our most recent angels Hank Aaron, for paving the way for black baseball players and athletes alike.

February 7, 1926, Carter g. woodson created negro history week. he originally chose February because the month contained the birthdays of two prominent individuals whose historic accomplishments were already celebrated by african americans. in 1976, the 50th anniversary of negro history week, black history month was derived. gerald ford began the tradition and stated that, "this celebration enables people to seize the opportunity to honor the too-often neglected accomplishments of Black Americans in every area of endeavor throughout our history."
